Position Purpose
The Client Technology Consultant - Event Support I is responsible for ensuring the seamless integration and operation of audiovisual (AV) and information technology (IT) resources during various events. This role provides operational support and planning to enhance event experiences through technology. By partnering closely with event organizers, this position ensures that technology needs are met and aligned with the goals of the event, fostering a productive and engaging environment for all participants.

Join our Client Technology Consulting team (CTC) within Client Services at Dartmouth. We seek a dynamic individual to join our team as a Client Technology Consultant, Event Support II. Client Technology Consulting is a team of passionate IT professionals who approach work guided by our values:

As a CTC, Event Support I, you will build deep relationships with clients and partners across the campus to understand and support the technical needs of a wide range of events. The incumbent will be part of a dedicated event support team that will improve technical issue resolution, boost presenter confidence, and work to enhance the Dartmouth brand.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Associates or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience in AV or IT support, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to operate and troubleshoot AV and IT equipment in live event settings.
  • Availability to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the physical capability to lift, bend, and twist frequently.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a track record of anticipating and addressing client needs in real-time.
  • Experienced in managing client inquiries and providing solutions under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an academic environment is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in operating AV equipment for live events preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills to effectively communicate with a diverse range of event participants, from attendees to high-level executives and event organizers.

Event AV Operations & Support

  • Sets up and operates AV and IT equipment, such as projectors, microphones, computers, and software like Zoom and PowerPoint, for events.
  • Troubleshoots any AV and IT issues promptly during events.
  • Ensures high-quality client service through active engagement and operational support during presentations.

  • Coordinates the scheduling of AV services in collaboration with event coordinators.
  • Assists with the billing process for event services.

  • Collaborates with team members to share knowledge, build relationships, and achieve common objectives.
