The Associate Director is integral to the effective and efficient operations of the Lemonis Center for Student Success (LCSS). Responsible for developing organizational and operational policies and procedures to shape the vision, further the mission, and implement LCSS goals. Lead the process and operations of the Ask Me Desk, a campuswide student success initiative to support students in need at all stages of their academic journey. Deliver high-quality services and manage general operations of the LCSS. Responsible for creating a culture of belonging and inclusion to support student formation, especially for historically underserved student populations. In this role, cultivates a vibrant community of engagement and mentorship to enhance the LCSS's function as a welcoming hub connecting students to resources, supporting their personal growth, and developing their leadership skills. Coordinate with LCSS anchor offices and programs. Provide high-level communication and support to strengthen partnerships and collaboration between internal offices and external organization's stakeholders and satellite offices across campus.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage operations of campuswide student success physical and virtual "Ask Me Desk" and develop leadership of its staffing.
  • Manage the Center's Ask Me Desk, to ensure the delivery of appropriate assistance, timely intervention, communication, and effective referral of students to offices across campus.
  • Develop organizational and operational policies and procedures to support the needs of the center and meet the established goals.
  • Recruit, select, train, supervise, and evaluate Ask Me Desk student employees.
  • Collaborate with "anchor program" directors to facilitate training and staffing of desk by anchor program full time staff (as appropriate)
  • Serve as a mentor to staff and student employees working in the and with the center.
  • Maintain and communicate accurate data regarding Ask Me Desk inquiries; monitor staff tracking, review data regularly, share reports with LCSS Director
  • Manage an academic triage process that builds mentorship, engagement and provides support of student success.
2. Manage the day-to-day operations, technologies, and program logistics of the LCSS.
  • Manage the maintenance of LCSS physical space; ensure tidy appearance, report maintenance issues to Facilities Planning & Management, assist with room set-up for classes and programs, and other tasks as identified.
  • Serve as the functional expert of technologies used by the LCSS, including the Ask Me Desk, in collaboration with the appropriate subject matter experts and ITS.

  • Coordinate logistics of LCSS programming with anchor and satellite programs
  • Identify, initiate, and communicate process improvements for LCSS operations.
  • Inventory, order, and process incoming deliveries of supplies and technology needs for LCSS.
  • Provide support, when needed, as it pertains to fiscal and financial responsibilities.
3. Communicate and collaborate regularly with LCSS offices, Raynor Libraries, and LCSS partners to ensure appropriate coordination of services and programming.
  • Provide on-site supervision of selected evening and weekend events
  • Create and maintain a shared calendar of events
  • Communicate with LCSS offices, faculty, and campus offices to ensure shared understanding of utilization of spaces and programming
  • Collaborating with the LCSS Director, strategize, and develop optimal programming within LCSS to meet student needs; partner and collaborate with various campus offices to host programs and events at the LCSS.
4. Work collaboratively with the director to shape the vision and mission of the LCSS.
  • Foster an intentionally inclusive environment for students, staff, faculty, and LCSS visitors and partners, particularly students from historically underserved populations
  • Advocate for and work to build an inclusive culture at the LCSS to support all student populations and address historical equity gaps experienced by underserved groups
  • Develop and implement mission-aligned goals for program and service delivery in collaboration with the LCSS Director and anchor program directors.
  • Work on special projects to support LCSS initiatives.
5. Participate actively on university committees and campus meetings to advocate for identified student needs; listen to perspectives from students, staff, and faculty; and enhance collaborative efforts across campus.
6. Collect, analyze, and use assessment data to develop and implement initiatives and identify improvements to LCSS.
  • Make valid and reliable evaluation of information.
  • Create accurate summary reports as requested or required.
  • Using data collected, create database to track frequently asked questions to improve desk services; organize information for easy access.
7. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, or related discipline.

A minimum of 3 years of related experience supporting academic success of diverse students in higher education environment.

Exceptional customer relations and interpersonal skills. Build and maintain collaborative relationships to work effectively with others in a team setting through shared responsibility, empathy, and respect; seek and appreciate the viewpoints of those from diverse cultures, races, ages, genders, religions, and lifestyles.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Active listener with ability to ask appropriate questions and uncover needs.

Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling of sensitive issues.

Ability to anticipate program and staff needs, take initiative and be a pro-active team member.

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and not be hindered by frequent interruptions.

Accuracy and attention to detail and the maintenance of confidentiality when accessing privileged information.

Dependable and trustworthy with a strong work ethic and professional connections

Independent, and innovative self-starter who can learn rapidly and can adapt to changing situations.

Proficient in Microsoft software/applications

Comfortable with using new technology.

Ability to learn SharePoint, Qualtrics, and other technology to support the work of the LCSS Ask Me Desk and everyday LCSS operations.

Ability to troubleshoot and/or report problems, make system updates, and teach others how to use system.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Master's degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, or related discipline.

Commitment to excellence and passionate about giving quality service to the campus community.
Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
