The Opus College of Engineering at Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach Construction Equipment and Methods (CNEN 4845) in the fall 2024 semester from approximately August 19, 2024 to December 18, 2024. The class is 3 cr. hrs. and meets on Tuesday and Thursday for two 75-minute periods per week. The course provides information on construction equipment and productivity analysis; design of equipment fleet operations and; design of temporary structures used during construction such as earth retaining structures and concrete formwork systems. The course also provides information on construction equipment safety and safety standards related to earthwork and concrete forming operations

Provide lectures and other delivery of course content, develop and assign homework, tests, and other items as needed, grade assignments, assign midterm and final class grades, and provide at least four hours of office time per week to answer student questions.

Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.

Applicants must have previous academic and/or professional experience in civil engineering, architectural engineering and/or a related field. Either an MS in engineering or a related field or at least 5 years of professional experience in building design and/or construction is required.

A Ph.D. in engineering is highly preferred. Past experience teaching engineering courses and a professional engineer (PE) license are preferred.
