Responsibilities

The Compliance Specialist coordinates compliance initiatives involving all aspects of the company including care and treatment services, health and safety, regulatory issues, and quality of care. The Compliance Specialist provides support to the Compliance Department and guidance and expertise to operations related to compliance with licensing regulations and policies for their designated region and Joint Commission standards.

Essential Duties:

    Upholds responsibilities in accordance with state licensing regulations and Joint Commission Standards, procedures and/or applicable laws, and ethics.
  • Collect and trend incident reports and quality
  • Conducts root cause analyses and participates in internal
  • Collaborates in the preparation, execution, and monitoring plan of any corrective action plans and service development plans.
  • Maintain oversight of facility compliance
  • Complete regular audits of clinical records and make recommendations for
  • Coordinate audits of other areas as identified by the Manager, Compliance and
  • Identify areas of improvement in documentation, systems, and programming as they relate to regulatory standards.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory updates and provide education to local
  • Identify needs for trainings
  • Facilitate trainings on policies and
  • Define trends, collect data, generate needed spreadsheets to track
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, in applicable field, or the equivalent experience in risk management, quality assurance, compliance, and/or healthcare licensing and schooling to equal a four-year degree
  • Three (3) years of experience in healthcare required
  • Experience in behavioral healthcare
  • Two years of Newport Healthcare experience preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required

$63,000 - $75,000 / year
