Job/Internship Description
Position Description

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will obtain relevant and practical work/training experience as it relates to the design, development, test, analysis, and implementation of consumer products, processes, and systems. You will work closely with Test Engineers and Technicians, as well Product Engineers to support product development and test.

Each individual’s time at in Test & Validation is focused on providing opportunities to learn in areas you feel are important to your future.This is a great opportunity for students to enhance their academic training with hands on technical and business experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop new test stands and fixtures
  • Conduct product testing, documenting and reporting results
  • Work on low level design of systems.
  • Troubleshoot LabView software and other existing systems.
  • Support Test Engineers and Technicians in support of systems
  • Develop and document PES
Job Skills Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Some knowledge of DAQ systems, sensors, and wire harnesses
  • Good organizational skills
  • Innovative thought process
  • Ability to work on cross functional teams
  • Mechanical ability and familiarity with hand tools is a plus
Education
Associates Degree in Mechanical Design
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience Requirements
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelors/Associates degree in specified function
  • Must complete the sophomore year in the major program of study prior to beginning a co-op
  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0
  • This is an entry-level position therefore previous experience is not required
  • Hands-on work experience in specified function is helpful
