Business Development Manager, Inside Sales

Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager will prospect and close new business within our existing market, primarily focusing on underdeveloped accounts. This inside sales role focuses on converting non-buying customers into buying customers and transitions converted accounts to an Account Manager.

Essential Job Functions Responsibilities:

  • Generate new revenue in the Senior Living market through prospecting and closing new business over the phone.
  • Increases sales of products and services within targeted accounts to achieve sales goals in all key areas.
  • Develop and implement selling strategies to grow territory (corporate version - in conjunction with BD CAM).
  • Coordinate internal resources necessary to respond quickly to customer needs, requests and problems.
  • Ensure smooth transition of converted accounts from business development team to traditional selling team.
  • Leverage sales reports to gauge effectiveness of selling strategies.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships with purchasing managers, executives, administrators, and other senior living and healthcare professionals.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to address customer requests for products, safety concerns, financing, and regulatory issues.
  • Gain specialized knowledge of and understand the operations of a health care facility including: budgeting process, state survey process, department roles and responsibilities, resident profiles, levels of care, and the decision-making process.
  • Other duties as assigned by Sales Manager

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of successful sales experience required with demonstrated ability to execute prospecting strategies for establishing and growing underdeveloped accounts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills with demonstrated success in developing strong customer relationships over the phone.
  • Effective time-management and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated energy, initiative, and drive for results.
  • Ability to make quick, smart decisions with limited information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Willingness to be flexible with schedule to meet the demands of our customers.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision
