Construction Project Manager Intern

Job Summary:

The Construction Project Manager Intern in Aptura is responsible for assisting Construction Project Managers with the execution of professional services and products to clients developing new construction projects and repositioning existing assets. The intern will gain experience in how to meet our customer's needs and create revenue for our business while ensuring an excellent client experience. This is a great opportunity for a student interested in project management, construction management, operations, supply chain management, or sales.

This intern position is year-round, accommodating a part-time schedule during the school year and full-time during breaks and summer. This position may also lead to full-time employment upon graduation for the superior performer.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the kickoff of new projects by using Excel, Google and internal project management system to create and document:
    • Project budget
    • Payment schedules
    • Project timelines
  • Work with Aptura Construction Project Managers and Superintendents to assist with contractor proposal solicitation, qualification, and selection.
  • Work with Aptura Construction Project Managers and Superintendents to assist with work sequencing & scheduling, and quality control activities during project construction.
  • Provide ongoing project support and assistance to Construction Project Managers and Superintendents as needed.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management related program.
  • Expert attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of an ongoing project team
  • Clear, concise, and professional written and oral communications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
  • Must have the ability to travel to project site locations independently. Travel may include flights and hotel stays in locations further than 150 miles from Milwaukee, WI. Ability to drive to project sites closer than 150 miles is also required.
Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Previous knowledge of construction systems and methods
  • Working knowledge of healthcare or senior living
  • Coursework in project management and communication
